Munster Rugby + Thomond Park = The Heart of the 061
Based on a hand drawn image the print features various references to Munster. From the mighty stag to the three crowns. The 8 pays homage to the late Anthony Foley while the 16 pays tribute to the die hard fans. The stadium is referenced through the abstract triangles.
Munster has always been a big part of my life, passed on through my father. The love of the game was nurtured in Young Munsters and if my memory is correct I do believe I played an U13 match in the back pitch of Thomond. That was the highlight of my rugby career. All down hill from there. I was better at drawing than throwing the ball, just about.
