A portrait of volunteer Sean South. 3 colour lino print. Image has been carved and printed by hand. The background layer is made up of Celtic knotwork and a stylised image of Sean South creates the final layer.
The image was created over a number of months using reference photographs. Once the drawing was finalized I created three separate layers to carve from lino. Each block was then printed using an intaglio printing press and oil based inks. Once each layer was dry I printed the subsequent layer. As this is a hand printed artwork each print will slightly differ. Prints are A.P (artist proof). These are the first prints taken from the blocks before the image is editioned. Only 4 A.P's were made. Available now.
