Fenian

Regular price €50,00 Sale

I was up a mountain recently. About half way up there was a commerative plaque to a poet. The plaque reffered to the poet as a 'Proud Fenian'. It is unusual to see the word used in a positive context. The etymology of the word dates back to the Irish Republican Brotherhood and was later used as a sectarian slur by the British. But it is a proud word. It is an Irish word. It is our word. This print tries to use the word the in which it was intended. Be a proud Fenian.

5 colour screen print on grey stock with hand embossment. Numbered and signed. Limited edition of 25. Unframed.
