Museum-quality print made on thick matte paper.

I inherited a very old art room last year in Hoxton, London. It was in a state of disarray when I took it over. While tidying the place up I came across some old paint palettes. Small, wooden palettes that fit beautifully in the hand. The palettes had layers and layers of paint left on them. Careless students in a hurry leaving their palettes on the side of the sink rather than cleaning them. Little did they know twenty years later an art teacher would rejoice at their carelessness! The different color paints had formed curious, spontaneous, flowing and textured surfaces, I knew I wanted to do something with them so I photographed the palettes and cataloged them. Various attempts were made to integrate the surfaces into my work, after many failed attempts I gave up and put the palettes in an appropriately named folder on my laptop. Finally, six months later I managed to find a format that worked, I let the paint palettes do the talking and presented them in their purest form. I just let them be. Sometimes with art we over complicate our work, when sometimes all we really need to do is, very little.

This resulted in a series of work entitled “Palette” each image is numbered according to the palette from which it was taken. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them.

Prints come in a variety of standard sizes which are easily framed. I have print partners that print and post my work for me. So if you order a print and you are based in the United States it will be printed in the United States, if you order a print in Europe it will be printed in Europe, if you order a print in the UK it will be printed in the UK. This ensures prompt delivery and no issues with customs.
